How we think about what we do

IcloneU was born from a conversation that should never have happened.

A student wrote to Renata, one of our founders, that she didn’t want to live. The community manager handling her social media at the time replied: “just push through it.”

That was enough for Renata to decide that no automation tool should respond on behalf of a person without truly understanding what that person means to the people who follow them. And that if AI was going to be in the middle of those conversations, it had to do so carefully.

That’s where we come from. And that’s where everything here comes from.

AI will never lie about what it is

If someone asks your Digital Clone “are you a person?”, the answer will always be honest: it’s an AI-powered assistant trained with your knowledge and your style.

Not because a law requires it — though several do — but because we believe respect for people starts with not deceiving them about who they’re talking to.

All active Digital Clones on IcloneU carry the identifier ✨ on the profiles where they operate. Always.

There are messages AI should not answer

IcloneU automatically detects when someone writing to a profile may be at risk — in emotional crisis, in danger, or asking for help in a way that no automated response should handle.

When that happens, the Clone stops. It doesn’t respond. It immediately alerts the profile owner. And it suggests a human response aimed at connecting that person with real help.

We built this first, before any other feature. It was not optional.

Your knowledge is yours

What you upload to your knowledge library — your documents, your responses, your way of speaking, your expertise — is yours. IcloneU uses it to train your Clone. We don’t share it, don’t sell it, don’t use it to train other models.

When you cancel your account, your data is deleted. We don’t keep it “just in case.” We don’t anonymize it for other uses. It’s gone.

We don’t sell data. Ever.

The data of the people who write to your followers and clients belongs to those people. IcloneU uses it only for what it was given for: so the Clone can respond well.

There are no advertisers. No third parties who pay for access to that information. No profiles built to sell.

We do use advertising cookies to show IcloneU ads to people who have visited our site. That, yes. But your conversation data and your end users’ data don’t touch that system.

We are responsible for what we build

The AI operating inside IcloneU has limits designed on purpose. It cannot impersonate a person. It cannot respond with content that discriminates, harms, or incites hatred. It cannot operate with content that violates the rights of minors.

When a client uploads content that violates those limits, we detect it, flag it, and act. Not because we want to police anyone, but because the harm an automated system can do operating without limits is real.

We know that building well takes longer than building fast. We do it anyway.

We listen when we get things wrong

If your Digital Clone generates a response it shouldn’t, we want to know. If something in our system felt unfair to you, we want to know. If you think we’ve violated one of the principles you just read, we want to hear it before anyone else does.
